SC Cultural District

In 2017, Florence, S.C. was awarded this designation by the S.C. Arts Commission.  This area includes:  10 murals and other public art displays; three galleries or exhibit spaces; five public spaces; one museum; 15 historic sites; two performance venues, home to six arts organizations; three events and festivals open to the public, and a host of diverse businesses and restaurants.  In 2021, Downtown Florence had 1.4 million visits, with over 500,000 unique visitors to the cultural arts district.  We are proud to be one of nine designated Cultural Districts of South Carolina.

Florence, SC welcomes you to enjoy its cultural district.  We invite visitors and residents to walk and enjoy the beautiful spaces that foster cultural, artistic and economic activity!!!  The charming public art spaces, museums, and galleries are pleasant anchors the diverse businesses and restaurant that support and promote the arts through culture.  If you are lucky, you may catch one of entertaining live performances and festivals!  Again, welcome to the Florence, S.C.
